AN out of school care club has been praised in an inspection report.

Monifieth Out of School Care Club provides care for children aged 4-12 years.

The service, which operates before and after school and during holidays, is based at Seaview Primary School.

A report by the Care Inspectorate gave t he club grades of “very good” in terms of its management, environment and staffing.

Care bosses said: “Children who attended the out of school club were provided with very good care and support.

“We concluded this after observing children at play and through discussions with children and staff, as well as reviewing associated paperwork.

“Each child had a fully completed registration form in place.

“This was enhanced where medication was required or where a child had an additional support need.

“The manager knew that these documents required to be updated at l east every six months to ensure they were still up to date and would be arranging this over the coming weeks.”

The report added that the snacks the kids received were healthy and that they were accompained by milk and water to drink and a selection of fruit.

The children were described as “independent” and took responsibility for tidying up after themselves.
