It turns out there are a lot. With more than 120 classes held across eight venues in Dundee, it was hard to choose what to go for.

At some locations, classes begin at 6.45am each weekday and there is a variety of workouts on offer until around 8pm.

There are also a number of classes available on Saturday and Sunday, so, for even the busiest of lifestyles, there is sure to be a time to suit.

Looking through the class THROUGHOUT January, we’re taking a look at the facilities offered by Leisure and Culture Dundee and how they can help you make a positive change to your health.

In the final part of her weekly diary, Tele reporter Amy Hall tries out some adult fitness classes.

AFTER exploring different ways of improving my fitness through gym and swimming sessions, I decided to see what fitness classes were on offer in the city.

schedule, I realised there was something for everyone regardless of your fitness level. From aqua aerobics, RPM cycling and circuit training, to grit, yoga and step classes, Leisure and Culture Dundee offers a range of workouts from low to high impact.

I decided to book in for an evening fitness pilates session. If I am being totally honest, I chose it because I thought it was going to be an easy ride. I was wrong.

The class takes place on Wednesdays at 6.20pm in the Olympia, so it was perfect for me to nip along after work.

Fitness pilates is functional training based on traditional pilates. It is designed to increase muscular balance and strength and also helps to improve posture, mobility and core strength in healthy adults.

The first week I went, I really didn’t know what to expect.

I was immediately welcomed into the class, which was made up of males and females of different ages. We each grabbed a mat and set up around the room facing towards instructor Lauri, who was stationed in the middle.

Starting with simple breathing and stretching, we ensured each part of our bodies was warmed up before beginning the real workout.
