Many have given life for Union flag

-

WHO does Nicola Sturgeon think she is?

How dare she even think of banning displaying the Union flag? Does she not realise countless people have died fighting for this symbol of Great Britain?

She needs to take a look at the mess she has made of running Scotland.

An NHS run by Shona Robinson, a police force that does not have the resources to carry out basic duties and an education system that is failing the children of today. In other words a country she is slowly bringing to its knees.

And the straw that broke the camel’s back, John Swinney saying he was not responsible for the Edinburgh trams fiasco. When will she and her cronies wake up and smell the coffee?

THE British nationalist obsession with the Union flag has always amused me, and seems to have recently come more to the fore.

It has been falsely claimed the Scottish Government will now no longer fly the Union flag on certain occasions. However, there has been no recent change to the policy relating to the flags flown from Scottish Government buildings. The Royal Banner (Lion Rampant) has been flown on royal occasions since 2010.

What has happened is the public guidance has simply been updated by officials in response to queries to match long-standing practice. Those wailing at a potential reduction in the flying of the Union flag can rest assured it will be flown on the same number of days in 2018 as in previous years
