Hello Dolly! has something for all

FOR a night of music, song, dance and the talents of a vibrant young group of performers, you’re not going to be do better than Hello Dolly!

Jerry Herman’s energetic show is a musical filled with charisma and with heart, which is being performed by Dundee Operatic Society.

Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow and a professional meddler — who decides the next match she needs to make is one for herself.

Set in New York at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish.

It features songs as “Before the Parade Passes By”, “It Only Takes a Moment”, “Put on Your Sunday Clothes”, and — of course — the title number, “Hello, Dolly!”.

From the same young, energetic performers and team that brought you Hairspray, 9 to 5 and Legally Blonde — and introducing some new youth members — this fresh look at a famous Broadway classic has something for all the family.

Dundee Operatic Society was established in 1922 and its impressive repertoire of performances has ranged from classical operas like Carmen, through to modern musicals.

It’s a real family affair, with a current membership of more than 40, ranging from age seven to an age where it’s impolite to ask!

The leads in this latest show are well-kent faces in local theatre, with Sinclair Ross playing Horace Vandergelder and Lynn MacFarlane playing the marvellous Dolly Levi herself.
