Two Big names join Bill

TWO more star names have been added to the bill for t h e B B C ’s Biggest Weekend show in Perth.

Jamie Cullum and Amy MacDonald will perform at Scone Palace on Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26 respective­ly.

Cullum, 38, shot t o fame in 2003 after his second studio album, Twentysome­thing, went platinum and became the No. 1 selling studio album by a jazz artist in the UK.

He currently presents a popular weekly jazz show on BBC Radio 2.

Bishopbrig­gs-born MacDonald, 30, has sold more t han 12 million records since releasing her debut album This Is The Life in 2007.

Her single “This Is the Life” hit number one in six countries and reached the top 10 i n another 11 countries.

Her fourth album, Under Stars, was released last year.

The two artists join an eclectic musical line-up including Noel Gallagher, Simple Minds, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Danelle de Niese, Evelyn Gelnnie, Nigel Kennedy, Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Julie Fowlis, The Beat and The Shires.

BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend will take place over the May Bank holiday weekend across four UK cities — Belfast, Coventry, Swansea and Perth.

Tickets for the festival go on sale on Monday, with priority going to local residents.
