Craigie keep cool in Culter shootout

ONE of the day’s best results in the GA Cup was East Craigie’s win at Culter.

In a thrilling tie, the sides shared six goals with the Shipbuilde­rs’ efforts rewarded when they held their nerve to win a penalty shootout 5-4.

Craigie’s goals were scored by Nik Mann, Finlay Baird and James Russell.

Tayport had to come from behind with two late goals to see off visiting Hall Russell.

Scott McLeod gave the north side a second half lead but late strikes by Alan Tulleth and Gary Sutherland spared the the Fifers’ blushes.

Forfar West End eased theIr way into the last eight, beating Deveronsid­e 6-2 at Strathmore Park.

It was effectivel­y game over at the interval as the hosts led 4-1 thanks to a Graeme Hart double and singles from Jamie Montgomery and Danny Cavanagh.

Hart completed his hat-trick from a penalty early in the second half and Montgomery completed the rout.

Jeanfield got the better of Montrose Roselea thanks to two second-half goals from substitute Rhys Davies and Jamie Reid.
