Kerr: Thistle rollercoaster
THE late turnaround at Partick on Saturday summed up the “rollercoaster” ride that is Dundee, according to vice-captain Cammy Kerr.
And, more i mportantly for the remainder of the campaign, it showed the “never-say-die attitude” among the players at Dens Park.
The 2-1 win at Partick was their second late, late winner after a 98th-minute strike gave them the points at Hamilton a few weeks back.
And Kerr says that ability means the Dark Blues will always have belief.
He said: “The change of emotions and everything — football is just unbelievable sometimes.
“It probably sums up Dundee to be honest — it’s always a rollercoaster ride wherever we are this season.
“Personally for me, coming on last Tuesday and then we get beat, I look at myself to blame.
“It’s not just me but if the score goes that way you always look at yourself. Then the change on Saturday is massive.
“It just shows what character this team has and the mentality we have, it’s brilliant.
“There is still a long way to go in this season, we can be looking up or down the table but, tell you what, the boys were great to come back and show that fight on Saturday.
“We’re one of the top teams for goals in the last 15 minutes.
“I think that shows the mentality of the team and the never-say-die attitude we have.”
Simon Murray’s two strikes took Dundee up to second best alongside Rangers for goals scored in the last 15 minutes this season with nine.
Both, remarkably, are behind strugglers Hamilton who have 10 while Celtic are next with eight.
Cammy, though, was delighted to see fellow-Dundonian Murray get himself up and running as a goalscorer in the dark blue shirt.
He added: “It’s great. I’ve been really close with him since he came in, Dundee boys stick together. He’s a good lad and I’m absolutely delighted to see him get that goal.
“People might start getting on his back after missing a few but suddenly there you go — two goals and we win.”
Another new signing Steven Caulker has also made an impression on Kerr in his short time at the club.
