Mannus shows please Tommy

-

ST JOHNSTONE boss Tommy Wright has praised the performances of keeper Alan Mannus since he regained his starting spot from Zander Clark.

The Northern Ireland international got back into the first-team goal after Clark was hurt in the home loss against Partick Thistle.

Tommy said: “Alan has done well since he came back in and had some good saves against Celtic last Sunday.

“He hasn’t put a foot wrong since getting his place back.

“In front of him against Celtic, Jason Kerr was very good and Steven Anderson was magnificent.

“The three of them played their part in a fine showing.

“Now we have to keep that going i n our three home games coming up.

“We have Ross County on Saturday, Rangers on Tuesday and Hamilton a week on Saturday.

“We have been really inconsistent this season and must turn up in these games.

“There i s no point i n performing well against Celtic and not doing so in these three upcoming games.”

Midfield man Stefan Scougall has undergone surgery on his injured ankle and is unlikely to play again this season.

Saints’ Development side lost 4-1 to leaders Hibs in Kelty. First-team striker Oli Shaw was one of the Hibs scorers.

McDIARMID Park will host this season’s Irn-Bru Cup Final between Dumbarton and Inverness CT on March 24 (4.15pm).
