Probe after woman found dead at home

The woman is understood to have died suddenly yesterday.

Forensics officers were at her home in Primrose Crescent, in the Tulloch area of Perth today, carrying out investigat­ions.

One neighbour said inquiries appeared to be at the rear of the home, close to Tulloch Primary School.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called to attend at a sudden death of a 42-year-old female in Primrose Crescent, Perth.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstan­ces, although inquiries are ongoing.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

Meanwhile, an Abertay University student has been found dead in a halls of residence in the city. Police were called to an apartment in Parker House, near to Parker Street, following the death of a man.

Staff working in t he student accommodat­ion declined to comment on the incident that is understood to have left a number of students “shaken”.

The housing complex caters for both Dundee University and Abertay University students.

A number of students who live in the complex said they were unaware of the incident.

A spokesman for Abertay University said that they were liaising with the family of the man, while offering support to students affected by the tragedy.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that we attended at a student residence in Dundee on February 15 in connection with the death of a 24-year-old man.

“There were no suspicious circumstan­ces and a report was sent to the procurator fiscal.”

A spokesman for Abertay University said: “We can confirm an Abertay University student was sadly found dead at a student residence on Thursday.

“Our student services team is liaising with the family.

“Additional support is being offered to all students at this time.”
