Foster out for rest of season
ST JOHNSTONE have been dealt another injury blow with the news that defender Richard Foster is unlikely to play again this season due to a hamstring tear.
The experienced f ullback sustained the injury in the 0-0 away divide against Celtic.
This comes hard on the heels of midfield man Stefan Scougall being ruled out f or t he rest of t he campaign due to an ankle injury which required surgery.
However, on the plus side, striker David McMillan is progressing after injuring a hamstring in the home loss against Partick and may be i nvolved at home t o Ross County tomorrow.
Saints team boss Tommy Wright said of the news about Foster: “It’s very unfortunate and adds to what has been a poor year for us injury-wise.
“We’re still fresh from the news that Stefan Scougall is out for a lengthy period only to be given the news about Richard.
“It’s a grade three tear and it’s come as a shock as it didn’t look too bad at the time.
“I think the position he was in as it happened, and the fact he was pulled back, has compounded the injury. We’re looking at 12 weeks out which is, effectively, the rest of the campaign.
“I’m very disappointed for Richard as he looked to be back to his best and he is a versatile player for us.
“However, Aaron Comrie is available and Keith Watson should be back training i n a week so, hopefully, we can cope.”
