“We’ll see what happens, this league has a funny way of throwing things at you that you don’t really expect, so all we can do is keep trying to perform well and win games and see where it takes us.

“Livingston have been a great side, the manager’s done a fantastic job and I know a number of players there who work extremely hard.

“They put on a really good performanc­e against us in the early part of the season, beating us 2-0 at their place but then we did better at home.

“It’s all set up for a good game, they have some top pros there and play a brand of football which suits them. It’s been very efficient so far this season.

“We saw that against St Mirren, they’ll be thinking it’s probably just a bit of a slip-up and be looking to bounce back as well, so everything’s there to play for.

“We look forward to the games coming up.”

On a personal note, the 29-year-old is pleased to have recovered from Achilles and calf injuries over the break in time for tonight’s crucial Championsh­ip clash.

He added: “For myself, it means I didn’t miss too many games, which is good, but we go into a big week with three massive games. We really need to go and put a stamp down and get maximum points.”
