In the Premier League, Kirrie Thistle came a cropper at home to Tranent.
Labelled a must-win game, the 5-1 defeat left Chris Kettle’s side with a mountain to climb to avoid the drop. Two down, Greg Fairweather pulled one back for Thistle.
However, having lost two further goals before the break, it was effectively game over.
A fifth strike, courtesy of an own goal, only rubbed further salt in home wounds.
St Andrews United’s match at Whitburn was another victim of the weather.
