Defender still has his sights set on St Mirren

Livingston for the whole of every game we play.

“Forty-five minutes j ust isn’t enough, you have to be doing it for the 90.

“It was the same up at Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup. In the second half we were really good but we need to be starting games the way we finish.

“We always put ourselves on the back foot and give ourselves a challenge. We can’t start playing when we are one-nil down, we have to do it from the start.

“It is frustrating because up until Christmas the quality of football we were playing was unbelievable.

“We were playing so well and for it to turn round all of a sudden like it has is really hard to take.”

While he is not feeling sorry for himself nor looking for sympathy from anyone, Robson does believe United have had more than their share of bad luck this season.

Injuries to key players, postponements leading to a backlog of fixtures and even St Mirren being able to get tonight off because their game against Falkirk can now be played on a Saturday later in March, have all gone against United.

His view, though, is they just have to get on with things and make sure there is a return to winning ways.

“All these things have gone against us but there is nothing we can do about that, so we just have to keep working hard.

“We do have a lot of games coming close together but if we are winning it won’t be a problem.”
