Schools in rock challenge
FOUR Angus schools will be taking part in the UK Rock Challenge and J Rock in Dundee on Wednesday.
The events are universally inclusive, with secondary schools, colleges, academies, schools catering for students with special needs and independent schools all encouraged to take part.
Montrose Academy, Arbroath High School and Arbroath Academy will be joined at the event in the Caird Hall by Strathmore Primary School from Forfar, as well as Kinross High School, Larbert High School and Kinross, Abernethy and Stenhousemuir primaries.
Montrose Academy will be hoping to emulate its previous achievements, having placed first at its 2017 heat, winning 11 excellence awards, including the performers’ choice award.
Charlotte Payne, assistant event manager for the UK Rock Challenge, said: “It is great to see the teams encouraging one another during the day and congratulating each other on their performances.”
