Ryan is back with a bang for Gowfers

CARNOUSTIE recorded a 3-1 away victory against Longside in the GA Cup.

The visitors adapted well to the wind and rain and took the lead in 18 minutes with Ryan Roche, on his return from a 12-month spell on the sidelines, celebrating when he rifled home from 30 yards.

It was the only goal of the first half but, a minute after the restart, the visitors doubled their lead when Steven Cook slammed home following a corner.

Longside put a bit of pressure on when they pulled one back in 53 minutes but they couldn’t capitalise and it came as no surprise when Pat Martin sealed the tie with 12 minutes to go.

The Gowfers will now have a home tie against Jeanfield in the quarter-finals.
