Tanser keen to extend his stay

-

ST JOHNSTONE left-back Scott Tanser is enjoying himself so much he wants to stay on at McDiarmid Park.

The former Rochdale and Port Vale player is in his first season with Saints and has played a good number of games.

He was thrown in at the deep end upon his arrival at the club when he featured in the Europa League against FK Trakai and, with Brian Easton out injured for a long spell, he has settled into the left-back role.

“I’m liking life with Saints and would be happy to stay,” said the defender, who i s set to line up at home to Hibs tomorrow in a live televised game which again gives him the chance to showcase his talents.

He played his part in last Saturday’s 4-0 demolition derby victory away t o Dundee, his contribution including executing a fine tackle to stop Simon Murray in his tracks as he was bearing down on the Saints goal.

“The Hibs game is another big occasion and, if we do as well as we did against Dundee, we will give ourselves a great chance of winning,” Scott went on.

“I was in the Saints side which won 2-1 at Easter Road earlier in the season and would like to complete a winning double against Hibs.”

Whether Jason Kerr plays in that game remains to be seen. The appeal against his sending off against Kilmarnock is heard today.

Saints are minus t he injured quintet of Stefan Scougall, Richard Foster, C a l l u m H e n d r y, D av i d McMilland and Easton.

Meanwhile, as part of the Centre For Access To Football In Europe initiative, nine disabled people will be among the Saints player escorts at the Hibs game.
