Gordon aiming to be involved

-

ST JOHNSTONE will have Jason Kerr available for Wednesday’s Premiership home game against Hamilton but Liam Gordon is hoping he did well enough against Hibs to be involved again.

The centre back, who is a Perth lad, came in for Kerr in t he 1-1 home divide against the men from Leith last Friday and did well.

He said:“I was glad to get a game and I thought the whole team did all right.

“We made a poor start with the loss of an early goal and had to chase the game.

“However, we showed the character to come back but, against 10 men, it was difficult.

“They had their keeper sent off early and played well even though they were a man down.

“I was taken off near the end in favour of an attacking player and I understand that.

“Our manager was right in changing things to go for it and it worked, as Chris Kane scored the leveller.

“Since that match, we have had a few days off before returning to training and we are well focused for the Hamilton game, which is another big one for us.

“Hopefully, I’m involved. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

Saints may have Richard Foster available after a spell out with a hamstring injury but Stefan Scougall, Brian Easton, David McMillan and Callum Hendry are still out.

David Wotherspoon i s away on international duty with Canada but will return at the start of the week.
