- BY JAMES SIMPSON

TWO people were taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds following a “disturbance” at a home in a quiet suburban street.

Stunned neighbours said they saw police weilding a battering ram before paramedics wheeled a blood-soaked man out of the property in a wheelchair.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a house in Clattowoods Drive following reports a man and woman had been stabbed on Sunday morning.

Emergency services arrived just after 8am and a man and a woman in their fifties were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland were still at the home more than 24 hours later, as shocked neighbours described what they saw.

One resident, who declined to be named, said: “It must have happened just after 8am on Sunday.

“There were two ambulances in the street and I saw police carrying a battering ram near to the address.

“There was one guy in a wheelchair getting taken away covered in blood.

“Forensic officers were on the scene f or a period of ti me after the incident happened.

“We rarely see a police vehicle up here so it was a surprise to see what was going on.” Another resident said he saw a forensics officer in a white suit around the garage area of one of the properties.

He said: “There was a police presence here all day on Sunday and an officer guarding the door. I initially thought there had been break-in.

“I saw a forensics officer with the full white suit on walking around the front of the property.

“The area is generally so quiet so we were shocked to see the emergency services.”

It is understood another occupant within the property called 999.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police attended the Clattowoods area of Dundee on Sunday morning, following reports of a disturbance.

“A man and woman were taken to hospital for treatment and inquiries are continuing.”

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 8.06am on Sunday to attend an address at Clatto Park in Dundee.

“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and two patients were taken to Ninewells Hospital.”
