Is cheap, it’s our sleeves
to Celtic and Rangers all to be negotiated within seven days.
McGowan added: “Hearts, Celtic and then Rangers — it probably doesn’t get any harder than that.
“These are the games you want to test yourself in, though, and show you are a good side.
“We’ve had plaudits this season but we need to go and start being hard to beat.
“Frustrate teams and then let our football do the talking.
“Yeah, we’ve had plaudits here and there and rightly so but, on the flip side, we’ve let the fans down, let the manager and the coaching staff down with some of our performances and I’m sick of saying the same old stuff.
“It’s about time we stood up as men, looked ourselves in the mirror and asked if we’ve been good enough.
“To be honest, I don’t think we have been good enough over the season.
“I think we owe ourselves more than anybody to start producing performances we know we can, instead of making up excuses and, obviously, the manager taking the flak for the team. Us as individuals need to raise our game.
“Top six is gone, so it’s just about finishing as high as we can and trying to put on a few good performances for the fans and for ourselves.
“Obviously, it doesn’t get much tougher than the run-in we’ve got but we need to beat teams like that if we want to stay up.”
