Dragons do well despite defeat

-

DUNDEE Dragons 13s lost 6-1 at home to Forfar Farmington.

It was Dragons’ first defeat.

The Dundee team’s Samantha Lee Fyfe said: “We were unfortunate to have a couple of players off due to illness but the team still performed well.

“They played against the wind and uphill first half and were 4-0 down at the interval.

“Our second-half performance was much stronger.

“Given we were up against a Forfar Elite team, we did not too bad.

“They took their chances and were much quicker but we can take that back to training and work on it.”

Meanwhile, Dundee Dragons 11s were in St Andrews taking part in a festival — and they won all four games against Raith Rovers Reds, St Andrews & East Neuk, Raith Rovers Rapid and Dunfermline Girls.

Coach Margaret Symington said: “It was a great day for the Dragons with the sun shining and goals galore.

“We have a great wee team who enjoy their time together and who absolutely love playing football.

“I am delighted to be back coaching and so proud of our girls who work really hard as a team.

“It’s such a joy to see them all so happy.”

DUNDEE West FC are running a girls-only football camp at Charlotte Street tomorrow.

The one-day session is open to girls in two groups aged 5-8 and 9-12.

The camp runs from 9am-3pm and costs £10.
