Donald opens the door for Bleachers

PROMOTION-CHASING Luncarty eased their way to a 4-0 North League win over Lochore Welfare at Brownlands Park.

Kieran Donald scored the only goal of the first-half.

In between, a Sean Fergus double, Darren Kelly was the other marksman.

Kinnoull had to come from behind at the interval before overcoming bottom club Forfar Albion 4-2 at Guthrie Park and then only courtesy of two stoppage-time strikes.

A deflected corner after 30 minutes gave the hosts their interval advantage.

Soon after the restart, a Mark Smith penalty was brilliantly saved by the home keeper but, shortly after, the Perth side did level from the spot when Greg Whyte netted.

Ben Ragan then put the visitors ahead but Adam Fraser equalised for Albion after 63 minutes.

However, home hearts were broken with Mark Smith and Mark Marr scoring in seeded time.

Blairgowrie were worthy 4-1 winners over Arbroath Vics at Davie Park.

The Berrypickers got off to a flying start with Gordon Norrie firing home a free-kick after 90 seconds.

Matt Adam doubled their advantage midway through the half but Lewis Quinn pulled one back for Vics with a 20 yard curler.

However, Darren Neave restored Blair’ two-goal lead on 40 minutes and Neave got the fourth from an 86th-minute penalty.

In the final minute, Vics’ Sam Clark was red-carded.

Meanwhile, with North End’s game against Lochee Harp postponed, Violet knew a win at Coupar Angus would see them overtake the Dokens at the top of the league and the Pansies didn’t disappoint their followers.

Despite the closeness of their 2-1 victory, John Dunn’s side were always in control with Craig Batchelor netting direct from a corner in the first half and he added a second on the hour mark.

Coupar’s goal came courtesy of an 80th-minute penalty converted by Stuart Banks but the Pansies held out comfortably.

East Craigie stretched their unbeaten run to four matches with a comfortable 4-1 win over Brechin Vics.

Nik Mann was the main man for the Shipbuilders with two penalties included in his hat-trick while Jon Rosscraig was also on target.

Steve Eaton scored the hosts’ consolation counter.

Newburgh’s home game against Scone Thistle was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
