ST ANDREWS UNITED’S 5-0 home defeat to Tranent proved to be manager Craig Morrison’s last game in charge.

It was Saints’ fourth consecutive Premier League defeat after which Morrison tendered his resignation which the club reluctantly accepted.

The search for a new boss has already started with Saints inviting applications.

Anyone interested in the vacant position should contact Johnny Strachan, vice-chairman, St Andrews United JFC, Barnetts Park, Langlands Road, St Andrews, KY16 8BN or by emailing johnny6513@ hotmail.co.uk

Meanwhile, runaway Premier League leaders Musselburgh exacted f ull revenge for Kirrie Thistle having been the only team to defeat them this season, with a whopping 7-0 victory at Olivebank.

Tayport had a convincing 4-1 win at Dalkeith.

Alan Tulleth gave them the lead when he burst into the box and scored with a low shot after 26 minutes.

Ten minutes into the second half, Dayle Robertson doubled the ’Port tally and the match was put beyond Dalkeith when Jamie Gill knocked in a third in 80 minutes.

Stewart Adams pulled one back but a second goal from Tulleth in the final minute completed the rout.

RESULT of the week — LOCHEE UNITED get the nod for ending Broxburn’s 14-game unbeaten run.
