Woman ‘assaulted over three months’

A MAN has appeared in court accused of assaulting and behaving aggressive­ly towards a Dundee woman over a threemonth period.

Dale Thomson, 26, of Newton Crescent, Arbroath, appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court before Sheriff George Way.

He is alleged to have, on New Year’s Day, at a house in Grampian Gardens, Fintry, assaulted Chelsea Wagener, straddled her, prevented her from moving, shouted and threatened violence towards her, put his hand over her throat and compressed it, restricted her breathing, put his other hand over her mouth and pushed his fingers in her face, while placing his face close to hers, grabbing her head and butting her on the forehead.

He is also alleged to have, between January 27 and February 28, at a house in Kerrsview Terrace,Maryfield, assaulted Ms Wagener by grabbing her by the arm and placing his hand over her mouth in an effort to prevent her calling for help, and on the same date and at the same location, he is accused of having behaved in a threatenin­g or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, shouting and swearing at Ms Wagener.

Thomson is also accused of, on Valentine’s Day, outside the Odeon Cinema, Douglas Road, assaulting Ms Wagener by shouting and grabbing her by the arm.

Between March 1 and 31, at a house in Kerrsview Terrace, he is accused of assaulting Ms Wagener by pinning her to the wall by her arms, forcibly removing her mobile phone and pushing her to the ground, kicking her repeatedly to the body, pulling her to her feet and grabbing her by the hair, repeatedly striking her head against the wall and throwing water over her body, to her injury.

He is further alleged to have, between March 1 and 31 2018, at the house at Kerrsview Terrace, behaved in a threatenin­g or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, shouting and swearing at Ms Wagener.

Thomson made no plea and was remanded in custody.

The case was continued for further examinatio­n.
