Pansies shrug off early Albion shock

-

IT’S as you were in the North League with Violet and North End both winning.

A shock looked on the cards at Glenesk when Forfar Albion led at the interval thanks to Mike McBrearty’s goal midway through the opening 45.

However, John Dunn’s side stormed back after the break with a double from J J Reid and another from Craig Batchelor.

Meanwhile, North End cruised to a 4-0 win over Brechin Vics with Nathan Scott scoring a double and Ryan Rigden and Kieran Sturrock also on target.

East Craigie continued their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win over Newburgh at Craigie Park.

Sean Reekie, Jon Rosscraig and Aiden Benvie were all on target for the Shipbuilders. Kurtis McKenzie got Newburgh’s goal. Lochee Harp won 4-3 at Lochore with a double from Josh Perera, a penalty from Lloyd Young and another from Brad Miller. Luncarty trounced ArbroathVics 8-1 at Ogilvy Park. A Kieran Donald hat-trick plus singles from Calum Kirkcaldy, Darren Kelly and Martin Maher and a late Dale Smart double counted for the Bleachers. Craig Tosh scored Vics’ consolation counter. Kinnoull kept their very slim promotion hopes alive with a 3-0 home win over Coupar Angus.

David Gray headed home a corner in 14 minutes, Greg Whyte converted a penalty after 31 minutes and Ben Ragan added a third early in the second half.

In the other Perthshire derby, Scone Thistle went down 3-0 at home to Blairgowrie.

Matt Adam scored the opener after 14 minutes and, a couple of minutes later, Gary Axworthy doubled their lead. An unfortunate own goal completed Thistle’s woes.
