Starlight makes flying visit to deliver wedding rings
USUALLY ring bearers come in the form of the best man or an adorable young relation.
However, Rhona and Gordon Brackett did it a bit differently on their special day, with Starlight the owl doing the honours.
The Perth couple met in early 2016 and less than a year later Gordon — a supervisor at Stagecoach — popped the question in Edinburgh on Hogmanay.
Rhona, 26, said: “I couldn’t believe it when he asked me to marry him.
“I just burst out laughing then thought, oh no, I’d better give him an answer!”
The surprises kept coming on the morning of the wedding.
Rhona expected to be driven to the ceremony in either her brother’s or dad’s car — but Gordon had different ideas.
Nurse Rhona said: “When we were all ready we were waiting to leave and a fancy wedding car pulled into the street. I thought someone else must have been getting married too!
“It was very thoughtful that Gordon had booked it months in advance.”
The happy pair married at Perth Baptist Church where Starlight stole the show, bringing the rings straight to Gordon, 28.
The celebrations continued on to Piperdam for the newlyweds’ reception.
Rhona added: “The venue was beautiful and we would like to say a special thanks to them and also our photographer Sandra from Downfield Studio.
“Even though the weather wasn’t great, we still managed to have pictures taken outside.
“A big thank you to Hazel’s Flower House, Susan Christie who made our cake and to Carnoustie Chauffeurs too.
“Our day was absolutely amazing.”
