The 33-year-old, who plays for Glasgow Rocks, top-scored for the Scots with 17 points to set up a semi-final clash against Australia.

He also managed to get eight rebounds as Scotland edged past the Nigerians.

The former Tayside Musketeers player helped the Scots beat India, Cameroon and England in Pool B and now faces the possibility of winning gold.

Scotland’s David McMath won gold in the men’s double trap shooting final.

McMath added to team-mate Linda Pearson’s double trap bronze.

Swimmer Scott had to settle for six medals after being denied a seventh when South Africa beat Scotland to relay bronze.

“Fourth isn’t great,” said the 20-year-old, after combining with Craig McNally, Ross Murdoch and Mark Szaranek who comes from Glenrothes

Perth-born Eilidh Doyle, the Scotland flag bearer, won her 400m hurdles heat in 54.08 seconds to reach tomorrow’s final.
