Sisters left horrified by abuser’s appeal plan

FOR decades, Jacqueline McComiskie managed to lead a normal, stable life.

Married for almost 30 years, she was a loving mother to her children and working in a job she adored.

But stability turned to turmoil when she was reintroduced to the man who repeatedly raped her when she was just nine.

James Fearn, 71, was sentenced to six years in prison for his attack on the Polepark woman as well as abusing two other children — including Jacqueline’s sister — between the 1970s and 1980s in Dundee.

Jacqueline has bravely waived her right to anonymity after learning the evil pensioner, who still denies any wrongdoing, is planning to appeal his conviction.

“His sentence is a year for every year that he raped me,” Jacqueline, now 50, said.

“It started when I was nine and I honestly can’t remember how many times he did it but it was just constant.

“I got put in a girls home when I was 14, I used to cut myself and I would go to the doctors and he asked me when I was 11 if I was sexually active. Imagine being asked that at that age.

“I’ve been married for 27 years, I had a great job that I love in the Army barracks but since this has all come back out again it’s completely changed my life. I still haven’t been able to go back to work.

“Having to report it i n 2015 brought it all back and it was even worse when I saw him in court. I became a recluse, I didn’t want to see my kids.
