Gowfers boss to ring the changes

-

CARNOUSTIE face another crunch Super League match at Laing Park tomorrow and will be looking for an improvement on last Saturday’s lacklustre display against Newtongrange, which resulted in a 2-0 defeat.

That result plunged the Gowfers into relegation trouble and a big improvement is required against Sauchie, who were 1-0 winners when they last met.

Manager Alan McSkimming has a full pool at his disposal but, after last week’s inept display, changes look inevitable.

Broughty Athletic boss Jamie McCunnie has a score to settle with Linlithgow Rose when they meet at Whitton Park.

McCunnie has unhappy memories of their last meeting, which resulted in a 4-1 loss for the Fed at Prestonfield.

It was his last game in temporary charge before Jim Finlayson took over.

However, a lot has happened since that day, with Finlayson departing and McCunnie taking over the role on a permanent basis.

McCunnie is delighted with the response from his players and believes they are now showing the form they are capable of on a consistent basis and hopes this will continue for the remainder of the season.

The Fed boss will be without the suspended Ryan Blair.

Forfar West End head to Kennoway for an intriguing basement battle.

Kennoway may be two points better off than their bottom-of-the-table guests but have played three more games Boosted by last week’s win over Bo’ness, West End will be along the same lines for the trip to Treaton Park.

Jeanfield entertain Hill of Beath and must win if they are to hoist themselves out of the drop zone.

Swifts, who were unfortunate to come home empty-handed from Linlithgow last week, are likely to be on the usual lines.
