Fans’ anger at Dee ticket plan

-

A FA N S g ro u p h a v e launched a scathing attack on Dundee’s new ticketpricing plan for next season, calling it “a slap in the face for loyal supporters who have twice dug deep to save the club”.

The Dark Blues hierarchy advertised their ticketing plan for next season, despite survival i n t he Premiership far from assured, with adult season briefs frozen and an U/12s season ticket costing just a pound.

Fans’ anger was sparked, though, by the addition of a ‘Premium’ category of games for £30 at the gate with ‘Category A’ costing £26 and ‘Category B’ £24.

That prompted the ‘Walking Down the Provie Road’ fans website t o publish an open letter to the Dundee directors.

The l etter read: “The introduction of ‘Premium’ means that the cost of attending certain games will have risen 15% over the last year and 33% since 2015/16.

“This is a slap in the face for loyal supporters who have twice dug deep to save the club and completely unrealistic given that Dens offers the most basic facilities of any top-flight club and the city of Dundee has been hit hard by a decade of austerity.

“With every admission rise, more fans are priced out of football.”

The Tele understands the club won’t be making any further comment until they know f or certain which division they will be in next season, when more information on pay-at-thegate tickets will be made available.
