Csaba focusing on the positives

-

DESPITE a poor result and poor performance to boot at Queen of the South, Dundee United manager Csaba Laszlo is trying to focus on t he positives before Saturday’s clash with Livingston and the play-offs beyond.

The Tangerines made the long journey home from Dumfries on the back of a 3-0 defeat from the Doonhamers to bring an abrupt end to a run of three wins on the trot.

They were, though, confirmed as one of the teams who will fight out the play-offs after Dunfermline grabbed a draw at Inverness.

The defeat did, though, mean t hey can’t catch this weekend’s opponents Livi.

However, Csaba says it wasn’t just the result at Queens that’s seen them fall short.

He said: “I know everybody is waiting for me to talk negatively but I talk very positively about the team because the season was very long with a lot of ups and downs.

“It was not Saturday that we lost the second position, we l ost easy games and easy points this season — we can talk about Dumbarton away, Brechin away, also games we had in hand, we can talk about Morton, we lost two points there.

“Qualifying for the play-offs is the most positive and for this reason I told the team ‘don’t be down’.

“This was a game if we won we’d definitely be third, now we have to win the home game to be third.

“Now we know Livingston don’t have to put in a big effort because they are already second.

“We have to prepare to play Livingston in the last league game and secure third place and after I want to see a bit more effort in the play-offs.”
