Ticket plans leave Dees feeling blue

-

GOOD luck to fans’ website Walking Down The Provie Road with their letter to the board of Dundee FC.

If they think that the owners have any sympathy for the supporters’ problems, I am afraid they will have to think again.

I have been a supporter since 1945 and have followed the team to home and away games for many years.

And when I had the opportunity to buy shares in my beloved club I did so with glee.

We used to air our views at AGMs. This was done away with by a previous board but a Q&A was promised every year – a promise the Americans said they would fulfil when they acquired the shares, and a promise they have never fulfilled.

I had a season ticket for 30 years or more. However, in my later years I had problems with my health and was unable to attend many home games.

One year I was not able to attend a match at Dens Park at all. However, I paid up front for my season ticket because I knew the club needed the money.

Then along came the new owners and increased my season ticket by £60, so I thought, no way will I pay an increase from £170 to £230 for a ticket I do not use at every home game. They lost my contribution.

In my opinion they have no time for the loyal Dundee support. They have a policy, it is pay up and shut up.

Now they have a premium price of £30 to watch a game and that has gone down like a lead balloon.
