Tommy praises defender Kerr

-

ST JOHNSTONE manager Tommy Wright t hought “Jason Kerr had another outstanding game in defence against Dundee”.

And the Perth side’s team boss was also impressed by midfielder Matty Willock’s play.

He said: “I think George Williams and Steven MacLean played well together in attack, too.

“John Robertson came off the bench to make his debut for the club aged 16, so that was another positive.”

Tommy was also pleased to have Stefan Scougall back after an ankle injury which required surgery.

His arrival as a late substitute at Dens Park might have come as a surprise to many, with the midfielder looking like his season was over when he was injured back February.

Tommy commented: “We weren’t sure if he’d play again this season.

“However, he recovered quicker than anticipated.

“Stefan actually only had one full training session under his belt prior t o Saturday but I felt it was worth the gamble to put him on the bench.

“We threw him on at the end and I thought he did well.

“He managed t o get some more game time on Monday night for the Development side at home to Dundee United, playing the first half.”

That match also saw David McMillan and Callum Hendry return from injuries and they’ll also take part in a Development match tomorrow away to Celtic. in
