Young strikers push for place

-

DUNDEE’S Development sharpshooters Matty Henvey and Cedwyn Scott are pushing for a first-team place this weekend.

The Dark Blues travel to Motherwell aiming to back up last week’s victory over St Johnstone and, in the process, boost their survival push.

And manager Neil McCann will have some in-form strikers to choose from.

Sofien Moussa will almost certainly lead the line from the start after his brace in the Tayside derby last time out while Simon Murray has been his usual strike partner.

H e nv ey a n d S c o t t , though, are battling for a place on the bench after impressing with the U/20s.

Henvey has already made an i mpact at first-team level, scoring in the victory at Hamilton in January only to then pick up an injury.

That has kept him out of action until he made a goalscoring comeback for the Development side in their final game of t he season against St Mirren.

Also netting that day was Scott, his 11th in 11 games, and his form has seen him take a place on the bench of late, though he is yet to make a first-team bow.

Meanwhile, the players will be backed by a healthy away support at Fir Park with extra buses put on to ferry fans down to Motherwell.

There’s also been a surge in season tickets purchased with the club announcing 1,000 sold already. The Super Early Bird renewal period has been extended to Tuesday.
