Stiff Luncarty test likely for Dokens

-

NEWLY-CROWNED North League champions North End head for Luncarty — and they could face one of their stiffest tests of the season.

With games in hand, their opponents believe they are contenders to finish in the runners-up spot and will be ready to take advantage if the Dokens take their foot off the pedal.

North End were 2-1 winners when they last met and it promises to be just as tight this time round.

Luncarty moved a step closer to their objective with a 2-1 win away over Harp in midweek.

A Martin Maher penalty after 63 minutes proved to be the winner after Richard Doig’s sixth-minute opener had been nullified.

Kinnoull wind up their season at home to Blairgowrie. They are looking to end the campaign by completing an 11-match unbeaten run.

If Tom Whyte comes through a fitness test, team boss Alan Cameron has a squad of 17 available.

Blairgowrie are without four regulars, Gordon Pirie, Robbie Hood, Gordon Norrie and Rudi Brown. Late fitness tests will decide on Steven Findlay and Greg McDonald’s availability.

Coupar Angus host Newburgh. A win would see them leapfrog their visitors in the league table.

Coupar’s Stuart Hill, Alex Gibb, Jamie Oldfield and Ryan Stuart are out injured. Newburgh’s Kyle Fraser is also out injured.

With nine long-term injuries, Brechin Vics have just six signed players for the visit of Lochore.
