Shock after mum Lisa dies aged 36

- BY LINDSEY HAMILTON

TRIBUTES have been paid to a 36-year-old mum following her sudden death inside a block of flats in Dundee.

Lisa Rigden, a mother of two young children, died at the property on St Mary’s Street.

Emergency services were called to the flats, just off Lochee Road, after reports that a woman had died suddenly.

Ms Rigden’s friend Jamie Dunnigan today paid tribute to the “big-hearted” mum.

He said: “I was shocked to hear that Lisa had passed away.

“I went to school with her and always kept in touch.

“She had such a big heart and would have done anything for anyone.

“She was always trying to help people and was such a nice lassie.

“She will be missed by so many people.”

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm it attended an address on St Mary’s Street, Dundee, on Friday May 4 in response to the sudden death of a 36-year-old woman.

“The death is being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“The deceased’s family have been informed and, as is normal in these circumstances, a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a crew had been called to an incident on St Mary’s Street.

He said: “We dispatched one ambulance to the scene.”

Neighbours said they were shocked and saddened by the death of Lisa.

One neighbour, who said they had known Lisa for some time, said: “I realised that something had happened to Lisa when the police and ambulance arrived.

“We were very sorry to hear that she had passed away.

“I didn’t know her very well but would speak to her in the corridor.

“She had two little boys and I would see her with them.

“Police came to speak to us afterwards and there has been a policeman sitting at her door ever since. It’s very sad.”
