Talk on mental health

-

MENTAL health campaigners will discuss the importance of education in tackling apathy towards the issue at an event in Dundee at the weekend.

Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourn will talk about their work and the mental health hurdles facing society when they appear as the latest guest speakers at Dundee U n i v e rs i t y ’s S a t u rd ay Series at the Dalhousie Building from 6-7pm..

The pair, who met a decade ago after Jonny threatened to take his own life, will recall the event that brought them together and how that chance encounter changed both their lives.

Jonny said: “Suicide is now the biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK and education is key to transforming perceptions of what mental health is and what can be done to help those experiencing difficulties.”

Free tickets for the talk can be booked online via the university website at dundee .ac.uk/saturday series.
