Winning final Main mission
MOTHERWELL striker Curtis Main (above) has only one thought ahead of Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup Final and that is to secure the trophy.
Main’s one-track mind was evident in the semi-final when he raced from the halfway line to the edge of the box before finishing emphatically to claim his second of the day and round off a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen.
And he has a clear goal in mind on Saturday. Celtic are aiming to seal an unprecedented consecutive treble and will have close to three times the Motherwell support – but Main will not travel to Hampden with any sense of inferiority or thoughts about merely enjoying the atmosphere.
“We’re not there to make up the numbers,” the 25-year-old said.
“We are there to win the final, that’s it.”
