Shock won’t blow Bleachers away

-

LUNCARTY are stumbling towards promotion in the North League.

The Bleachers suffered a shock 3-2 loss at home to Coupar Angus in midweek despite holding a two-goal lead thanks to a Sean Fergus double.

However, goals by Scott Gray and Lee Maloney (2) saw the Foxhall Park side leave with all three points.

Luncarty wind up their league programme tomorrow at Lochore, where only a double-digit defeat would see the Perthshire outfit denied second spot.

Bleachers player/boss Jon Kelly said: “The heavy programme has taken its toll on the players and we have a few injuries.

“Despite those problems I’m confident we can win tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Coupar Angus will look to finish with a flourish when they host Brechin Vics.

They have the same squad available that won in midweek.

Lochee Harp’s win over East Craigie in midweek should give them a boost ahead of their home clash with Scone Thistle. Scone are minus the suspended Ross Mitchell. Blairgowrie finished off their season with a decisive home win over Brechin Vics.

The Berrypickers were 3-0 up thanks to goals by Matty Adams (2) and Gary Axworthy.

Vics hit back through Liam Brady and Ricky Lawless. However, further goals by Adams – to complete his hat-trick – Darren Neave and James Simpson gave Blair a 6-2 win.
