Gowfers still have objective to achieve

-

CARNOUSTIE still have three Super League games to play and head for Prestonfield tomorrow to face Linlithgow.

Despite the fact there will be no relegation this season, the Gowfers are determined to finish outwith the bottom three and, after Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Kennoway, victory over Linlithgow would see them achieve that objective.

Lochee United’s poor end to the season continued when they went down 3-0 to Broxburn on Wednesday.

The Bluebells were always second best and go into their last match of the season against Penicuik at Thomson Park determined to make up for a poor display.

George Shields’ side will be hoping to emulate the 3-0 victory when they met at Penicuik earlier in the campaign.

Forfar West End were away to Dundonald Bluebell in the Super League on Wednesday night in what was their second last game of the season.

West End, who have a whole host of i njuries, fielded a couple players from their youth team plus trialists.

They turned i n a sturdy performance but lost 4-1.

Forfar were 2-0 down at the interval, Sibanda and Campbell the Dundonald scorers.

One of West End’s trialists reduced the leeway early in the second half but two further goals from Campbell and Sibanda completed the scoring.

Jeanfield Swifts take on Kennoway Star Hearts at the Riverside Stadium in what is their final home game of the season.

Swifts, who are one place above and seven points ahead of their visitors in the table, will start favourites.

The Perth men are also going for a third win on the trot.

Player/boss Ross Gunnion expects to have the same squad plus Daniel Kelly, who pulled off a terrific win at Penicuik last Saturday.

Kennoway haven’t named their squad.
