Millar facing up to a hectic start
MIDFIELD man Chris Millar is set for a hectic and memorable start to the season.
After spending 10 years with St Johnstone, he has returned to Morton, signing for them yesterday.
The Greenock club beat off competition from Dundee United to get Chris who hails from the Inverclyde town.
In his first spell with Morton, Chris netted 29 times in 178 appearances.
He said: “I am buzzing to be back at Morton.
“A l ot of people have been encouraging me to come back and, as soon as manager Ray McKinnon had a talk with me, it was an easy decision to make.
“I want the club to push for promotion to the Premiership and can’t wait to get started.”
However, he is not being entirely lost to St Johnstone as he is in his testimonial year there.
A golf outing at Auchterarder went well and now Chris is looking ahead to his testimonial game against Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park on July 8 (2pm).
Testimonial chairman Matt Henderson said: “Unlike some testimonial matches, this will be a full scale game with both teams fielding strong sides. It will be a competitive fixture.
“Aberdeen are gearing up for their Europa League games and Saints are getting ready for the start of the season so it will be a keenly-contested affair.
“Graham Fire Protection are the match sponsors and hospitality packages are available.”
