Teen denies raping and attacking child
A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with raping and attacking a child.
Liam Farquhar denies four charges against him, alleged to have taken place between 2012 and 2013 at several addresses in Arbroath.
The 18-year-old allegedly assaulted the child by pinning the youngster against a wall on various occasions and punching the child on the body.
On an occasion in May 2013, Farquhar allegedly sexually assaulted the child by seizing clothing, pulling the youngster and causing the child to fall to the ground.
Thereafter, it is alleged Farquhar sat on top of the child and pinned the youngster to the ground, removed the youngster’s clothing, groped the youngster and thereafter raped the child.
On various occasions between 2012 and 2013 at an address in Arbroath and elsewhere unknown to prosecutors, Farquhar allegedly behaved i n a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear and alarm. Farquhar allegedly induced the same child to take sexual images of themself and send them to him as well as threatening to share the same i mages with others if the child terminated their relationship.
Farquhar, of Ness Drive, Arbroath, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow to face the charges. Pleas of not guilty to all four charges were made on his behalf by defence counsel.
The case was continued for a further criminal preliminary hearing at the same court on July 5.
A MAN has appeared in the dock accused of raping a woman in a Dundee flat.
Brian Conway, of Burnside Gardens, Carnoustie, is alleged to have carried out the attack in August 2015.
The 35-year-old appeared at the High Court i n Glasgow for a criminal preliminary hearing to answer a single charge of rape.
Conway allegedly assaulted the woman at an address on Hilltown where he attempted to kiss her, removed her lower clothing, pulled her by the body, caused her to strike her head on the floor, pushed her by the body and on to a bed.
It is alleged that Conway thereafter raped the woman.
Defence counsel acting for Conway lodged a plea of not guilty to the charge on his behalf. A further hearing is to be held at the same court at a later date.
