Baldwin could cost Dee £200k

DUNDEE will have to splash the cash if they want to land defensive targ et Jack Baldwin.

The Peterborough skipper has been the subject of a bid from the Dark Blues, though it’s understood it fell short of the League One side’s valuation.

Posh are looking for a fee of £200,000 for the central defender, who can also fill in at right-back and midfield.

The 24-year-old has a year l eft t o run on his current deal and was made club captain last summer.

He was bought for £500,000 i n 2014 from Hartlepool but suffered a long-term knee injury a few months later.

Those problems are behind him now and has drawn interest from both Dundee and Aberdeen.

Peterborough, of course, signed Mark O’Hara after his contract came to an end this summer and any good relations built up between the clubs may go some way to smoothing the deal.

Posh manager Steve Evans i s l ooking to add another defender to his squad, making Baldwin available to leave.

Ross County right-back Jason Naismith has caught the Scotsman’s eye and he could be persuaded to join O’Hara at London Road after the Staggies’ relegation to the Championship.

Meanwhile, Craig Wighton and Glen Kamara have come through their international exploits unscathed.

And they are due to meet up with the rest of the Dundee squad next Friday as they report for pre-season testing.

Wighton helped Scotland U/21s to a semi-final spot at the Toulon Tournament, only to finish fourth after losing to Turkey in the thirdplace play-off while Kamara played twice for Finland in their friendlies against Romania and Belarus.
