Return to sender, says SSE
SSE has reminded customers to return letters not addressed to them, after a woman who recently moved to Dundee received account details for different customers.
Janet Bethany, 58, got an envelope in the mail from the utility company containing account details for f our addresses on Honeygreen Road.
Ms Bethany, who moved to Earn Crescent fromYork last month, said she was “gobsmacked” and feared the letters could have led to i dentity theft i n the wrong hands.
But a spokesman for SSE said: “Unfortunately Ms Bethany received a letter to her home which wasn’t addressed to her.
“SSE has put measures in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again but we would urge anybody who receives a letter not addressed to them to not open it and simply return it to the sender.”
