SFA search to replace McGlennan

THE Scottish Football Associatio­n are searching for a new compliance officer after Tony McGlennan declared his intention to leave the governing body later this year.

McGlennan (above), a lawyer, took over from Vincent Lunny four years ago and has been a central figure i n the SFA’s disciplina­ry process.

An SFA spokespers­on said: “After four seasons in the role, Tony has decided to return to private practice.

“He will assist with a transition period and will leave the Scottish FA later in the summer.

“We will begin our search for his replacemen­t immediatel­y.”

The SFA’s compliance officer reviews reported i ncidents from matches to ascertain if there is a case for retrospect­ive disciplina­ry action.

The role was created seven years ago by former SFA chief executive Stewart Regan.
