Flynn in at Blue Brazil

C OW D E N B E AT H are closing in on the signing of one-time Dundee United midfielder Matty Flynn after the 30-year-old knocked back an offer from Berwick Rangers to head for Central Park.

Flynn played with Brechin City and Stenhousemuir after l eaving Tannadice before having a successful three-year period at Annan which ended last summer when he headed for Clyde.

A groin injury blighted his time with the Bully Wee and he only made eight appearances last season before requiring surgery.

Flynn was released last month by Clyde and Blue Brazil boss Gary Bollan

Gary Bollan looks to have won the race for his signature. Meanwhile, the Bully Wee have added another former Tannadice man in the shape of John Rankin. The former skipper has signed a one-year deal.
