Blue Fly By for Steps’ big gig

-

BLUE’S teenage heartthrob Anthony Costa can’t wait to play at Dundee’s Slessor Gardens.

In an exclusive interview with the Tele ahead of tonight’s Summer of Steps Tour concert at the city’s newest outdoor venue, Anthony said he was looking forward to returning to the city.

Anthony said: ”We’ve played in Dundee before and I’m really looking forward to coming back to the city. I’m especially excited about paying in Slessor Gardens. I’ve heard lots of great things about it and I’m really looking forward to seeing it for myself.

“This is our first tour for a couple of years and it’s brilliant to be back touring and to be supporting Steps on their summer tour. I may have a few more grey hairs than the last time we toured but that doesn’t’ mean we don’t have the same appetite for it.

“This is still a job I love doing. We’re a little bit older and wiser and our attitudes have changed a bit since the early days but we still love being on the stage performing.”

Blue split in 2005 after a hugely successful career in the early noughties with hits such as All Rise, Fly By, Too Close and Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word.

After not overly successful solo careers, the quartet reunited in 2011 and have been working together ever since.

Anthony said: “We’ll be looking forward to performing all our old hits at Slessor Gardens and we want everyone to join in and sing along and really enjoy themselves.

“We’ll also be performing newer songs as well. Scottish audiences are always very enthusiastic and are so good to play in front of so we’re looking forward to a great night out in Dundee.”

Steps are the first big name to play Slessor Gardens this year, ahead of Rita Ora’s performance in July and Simple Minds in September.

The Evening Telegraph has five pairs of tickets to give away for Rita Ora’s gig. See below for details on how to enter and be in with a chance to win.
