£500k for cyber safety
SCOTTISH Government cash is being used to help small businesses and charities protect themselves from cyber crime – with ministers warning these organisations can be just as vulnerable to attack as big business. Deputy First Minister John Swinney said the £500,000 would help Scotland “towards our ambition to be a world-leading nation in cyber-resilience”.
The funding will be available from autumn to help organisations achieve the National Cyber Security Centre’s cyber essentials certification, which offers protection against the most common forms of internet-borne cyber attacks.
