Exciting end to club ties

THERE were dramatic ends to the Carnoustie Golf Club Championships over the Championship Course and the Buddon Links.

One down to Ralph Wardlaw on the 18th tee of the Championship course, Scott Mann won the hole to take it to sudden death. A par four on the first was enough to win him the title.

Frances Miller won the Ladies title on the 18th hole of the Buddon beating Sheila Brunton.
