A STUNNING line-up of some the biggest pop stars from the 80s has been revealed for this year’s Rewind festival.

Iconic acts from the one of the most influential decades ever will grace the stage at Scone Palace this summer.

Among the big names heading to Tayside include Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry, Paul Young, The Stranglers, Midge Ure and Lulu.

Tickets for the weekend festival, which will take place from Friday July 19 to Sunday July 21, go on sale today.

Bryan Ferry will close the festival on Sunday night, fresh from being inducted into the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Roxy Music.

Described as one of Britain’s most influential musicians, Bryan has sold more than 30 million albums across the world.

Event organisers are promising to take the festival to “new heights” with their most musically diverse lineup yet.

Katt Lingard, festival event manager, said: “Following our milestone 10th anniversary last year, we are excited to take Rewind into the future with a celebration of not just 80s artists but also legends whose influence spans far beyond the decade.

“We are welcoming a host of fantastic artists who will be performing at the festival for the very first time like Bryan Ferry, Foreigner, The Stranglers, Lulu and Lisa Stansfield.

“It’s going to be a fantastic three days at Scone Palace with something for everyone.”

She added: “Foreigner make their debut, headlining on the Saturday. And on the same day Lulu will appear too.”

Lulu said: “I am excited to come home to Scotland and perform at Rewind for the first time. It is going to be a fantastic weekend of live music from start to finish at Scone Palace.

“I look forward to rocking out with the crowd.”

Scottish singer Eddi Reader said she was looking forward to taking part.

She said: “I’m very excited to be performing at Rewind for the first time. The Scottish crowds are always the best.

“I had a wonderful time at Rewind in England four years ago and I’m looking forward to catching up with some of the artists backstage.”

Lisa Stansfield, Belinda Carlisle, Big Country, The Undertones, The Skids, Martin Kemp, Hipsway and The Primitives are also set to play over the July weekend.
