Striker Sow could be in line for first Tangerines start in St Mirren clash

DUNDEE United striker Osman Sow could be in line for his first start tomorrow since signing for the club late on deadline day.

The former Hearts man returned to Scotland to sign for his old gaffer Robbie Neilson but fans have only been given a glimpse of him in action so far.

The Swede replaced fellow-new boy Peter Pawlett for the final 16 minutes of last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Morton at Tannadice.

Twenty-eight-year-old striker Sow only featured 10 times for MK Dons this season and was short of match fitness.

However, last week’s run-out and another week of training with his new team-mates might just see him ready to lead the line for the Tangerines at St Mirren.

The Championship side head to the Premiership’s bottom club bidding for a place in Monday’s draw for the Scottish Cup’s last eight.

That will give manager Robbie a welcome headache after a positive performance against Ton, particularly in the first half last week.

Pavol Safranko i s the club’s t op scorer this season with 10 goals in 25 games and two in his last three after knocking in the opener from close range last week.

Pawlett got off to the perfect start with t he second goal while Cammy Smith has a point to prove against his old side (see left).

Nicky Clark, too, is getting back to his best after missing a big chunk of the first half of the season but may be the one to drop out for Sow.

Aidan Nesbitt i s also pushing for what would be his second start for the club.

Morgaro Gomis, meanwhile, returns from suspension after his red card at Ayr two weeks ago.
